About Us
Since 2011, the founder of Meier’s Artisan Cheese, Dan Meier is proud to be one of few in North America that uses the milk from his own herd of cows to hand make cheese. Originally from Switzerland, Dan learned his craft through summer’s spent in the Swiss Alps with his brothers as a young boy, where they spent their days making cheese by hand. He emigrated to North America in 1990 with his young family with the hope of beginning a new life, and to share his knowledge and passion for cheese within North America. Whether you like cheese as a healthy snack in the comfort of your home, or you discover it in a savory dish hidden within the pages of a five-star menu, we hope you love our cheese as much as Dan enjoys crafting each vat of fresh milk into a delicious and high quality product.

Our Cheese

Our handmade approach packs in freshness, yet an old world flavor that takes you back to a time when cheese went straight from the cow to the dinner table. You will notice a hint of familiarity in our timeless classics such as our cheddar, yet you will taste something new. Our Swiss variations are full of discovery for cheese enthusiasts, and our rendition of mediterranean-style Halloumi has Chef's excited!
